Scripture Union

Hello and welcome to the Moyallon S.U. page

S.U. stands for Scripture Union and we meet on Tuesday afternoons in the assembly hall. Everyone in P4, P5, P6 and P7 are very welcome from 2.45 until 3.30pm.

In S.U. we sing songs, listen to stories from the Bible or about missionaries and then we usually have a quiz to see which classes were listening carefully.

Mrs Belch and Mrs Orr are in charge of S.U. and we are registered with S.U. Northern Ireland (www.suni.org).

S.U.'s ministry in schools exists to

- promote the Bible as the source of Truth and Life

- reach pupils with the Good News of Jesus

- encourage pupils and parents to pray for their school

We hope to add prayer points to this page and other information to keep you informed as to what is going to be happening in S.U. this year.

Christmas Party 2019

We will be learning about the Armour of God this year in SU.  These are the memory verses we will also be trying to memorise.

SU Memory Verses

Ephesians 6 v 10

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

James 4 v 7

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

Romans 13 v 12b

let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light

Ephesians 6 v 14

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place

Ephesians 6 v 15

And with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

Ephesians 6 v 16

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Ephesians 6 v 17

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Ephesians 6 v 18

Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

SU

We had Mrs Beare visit us at SU.  She set up lots of prayer stations to help us pray in different ways.  We also made prayer jam jars with different colours to represent different things we could pray for.  She suggested that we use these at night so we remember to pray for people and places that we might otherwise forget about.  We all really enjoyed it and learned a lot.

Robert Vennard from Project Romania came to our Scripture Union.

He told us about the boys and girls Project Romania tries to help.

They have arranged schooling for them, give them food, shelter, clothing and medical care but most importantly told them that The Lord Jesus loves them.

We collected 138 shoe boxes and lots of sweets to send to Romania in time for Christmas.

Thank you to all those people who helped make Christmas a little bit happier for the Romanian boys and girls.
