Extended School Closure
Dear Parents,
Following the decision by the UK government to close schools, effective from Monday 23rd March, I am writing to inform you of the steps we will be taking at Moyallon PS to initiate our home learning program. The closures will have major implications for almost all aspects of school life, much of which will be managed in an ongoing capacity, but we are aiming to remain involved in your child’s education as we support our school community at this unprecedented time.
The staff have spent the last two weeks planning for the eventual closure of our school and an extended period of home learning. This Friday (20th March) the first Home Learning Pack will be available for collection in the school assembly hall (Please see below for details). Inside you will find booklets, worksheets and activities that have been prepared by your child’s teacher to support their education during the home learning period.
Collection of Home Learning Packs – Friday 20th March
The initial provision of Home Learning Packs will provide work for the children up until the natural Easter break. Further communication will be issued on the school website about how the process will be sustained after the Easter holidays. A dedicated Home Learning page will be set up under the Parents tab for communication purposes.
As we embark on this uncharted journey together, I’d like to express my thanks for the many messages of support and understanding in recent days. The situation we are presented with is a significant challenge at all levels and I believe that while further trials lie ahead, together we can face up to them as a whole school community.
Yours sincerely,
Mr A Davidson
Principal
